Katie & Emerson: A Goldney Hall Wedding with a Summer Turnaround

Myself and the guests started our day taking shelter from awful weather in one of the Orangery’s beautiful spaces. It’s such a shame when a couple has planned for an outdoor summer wedding and the weather turns nasty. We all stayed hopeful, and as if by magic, 15 minutes before Katie’s arrival, the sun broke free of the clouds, blessing us with beautiful light for the main event! I was so relieved, as I’d been eagerly anticipating this wedding at Goldney Hall for ages!

British summertime weather; you never really know what you’re going to get, but when it’s good, it’s difficult to beat!

The ceremony was perfect, aside from a few wet bottoms. Katie & Emerson loved and treasured every moment in what was a very emotionally powerful ceremony. The relaxed vibes you get from an outdoor ceremony are what I thrive off—loads of freedom to move and space to breathe! I work better out in nature; it just feels like my creative side opens up more.

I’m so lucky to shoot at these gorgeous venues; the couple shots came out great, and most importantly of all, Katie & Emerson had a fun time! My priority for couple shots is that the bride & groom genuinely enjoy it; naturally, the lovely photos will come along with that. Shouting at the couple, trying to force emotion is something I’ve never done. I let them be themselves, and if I’m relaxed and chilled about the whole situation, they will be too!
